Makeup Tips to Minimize the Appearance of a Double Chin

Applying makeup not only helps to emphasize your best features, but it can also hide flaws. Makeup can help minimize the appearance of a double chin through several tricks and make up tips. Shading, contouring, and emphasizing certain features can all help in minimizing a double chin.

Once you have put on foundation and powder, first dust a light layer of powder bronzer all over your face. A tan face appears to be thinner than a pale face. Do not use so much that your face is a different color than the rest of you, and do not use a bronzer that makes you look too orange. A subtle sun kissed look is best.

Next, use a slightly darker shade of bronzer to brush under your chin and down your neck. Follow the underside of your jawbone from the bottom of your ear down to the underside of your chin. Do this on each side. Finish by sweeping more bronzer from the underside of the chin down the middle of the neck. Blend any telltale makeup seams. This helps to shade the double chin by making it slightly darker so it will recede from the rest of the face.

Avoid blush on the apples of the cheeks, as this will only make your face appear rounder. Apply blush only to the cheekbones and move diagonally toward the temples. Using some clever eye makeup tips can help tremendously in keeping others’ attention where you want it.

Putting the emphasis on your eye makeup will focus the attention upward, away from a double chin. Eyeliner and mascara can help draw people’s attention to your eyes.

A neutral lipstick or gloss helps keep the focus on eyes. A bold lip color will bring the eye back down toward the chin.

Using these makeup tips along with your efforts to trim up by exercising and eating healthy will give you extra confidence in your appearance – which can help you in many areas of your life.
