How To Prevent A Double Chin

What is a double chin?

A double chin is a layer of fat that’s formed around the neck, which creates the visual appearance of a second, sagging chin; to the observer, a double chin is something to snicker at; to you, a double chin is a constant source of nuisance and depression. We know you don’t want one, and here’s how you can prevent a double chin: Techniques that can help you avoid a double chin

  1. If you feel a double chin coming on, and you are generally healthy and not fat, then a simple weight loss diet will work wonders.
  2. If you lead an unhealthy lifestyle and have put on weight, but haven’t developed a double chin yet, then you need to get on a heavy duty weight loss diet.
  3. Along with a diet, you need to perform some exercises that strengthen your platysma, a facial muscle that rises from the pectoral (upper chest) over the collarbone and extends to the sides of the neck.
  4. Here’s exercise # 1: Look in the mirror – greatly tense the area where the platysma lies (see illustration) – place emphasis on pulling down the lower lip – now, do you see your neck muscle in the mirror? – if you do, you are doing the exercise right. You can do this several times a day as time permits.
  5. Push your fist under your chin – ensure the fist has enough force to close your mouth – now try to open your mouth and force the fist downwards. (see illustration)
  6. Look in the mirror – keep pushing your lower lip down until you can see your lower teeth (gums and all) – do not pull down the corners of your mouth while doing this exercise. (see illustration)
  7. Attempt simple neck stretching exercises while lying down. You can do these any time of the day or before you doze off.
  8. One simple exercise that can strengthen your platysma is to keep your head straight and then lifting it up so you can see the roof of your house. While attempting this exercise, you must feel your neck stretch.

    This is hilarious, and serious. If someone has a double chin the best thing would be to get off their ass and exercise.
