Most patients who have undergone this procedure only need to take two to three days off of work, and the minimal swelling and bruising subside very rapidly. After a patient undergone tumescent liposuction, they will have to wear a special garment for a few days following the surgery. This garment, much like a large chin strap, is to provide gentle pressure on the incisions. After two to three days the strap can be removed and no other special care is required.
