Acai Side Effects | Is There a Need to Worry?

My first reaction when I heard about the many health benefits that acai berry products can give me with the promise of no acai side effects to deal with was skepticism. No product can be that good. Do these manufacturers really think that I would allow myself to gorge in acai berry juice, acai berry powder or acai berry pills every day just to look good and feel good about myself? I was not that desperate to fall for any marketing ploy.

My Acai Side Effects

The test came when a health conscious relative sent me a box of acai berry powder. I knew health and organic products do not come in cheap these days and my husband told me it would be a waste if I did not use it. After all, I had nothing to lose.

So I read about acai berry cleansing and decided to use this. I fasted and dared not to eat or drink anything unless it had acai powder in it. Then I started to feel the acai side effects. I felt nauseated most of the time, weak and almost fainting. I often got headaches and felt dizzy as well. I also had stomach aches from time to time. I was by then regretting my decision to give acai berry cleansing a try and vowed not to use it again.

I could not take it anymore and decided to go to a doctor to put an end to my suffering. I told him about the acai side effects that he got. At first he did not believe me and continued to interview me and everything I did  since I started the acai berry cleanse. Then he told me that I was doing everything wrong and that I should have consulted him first before I did anything.

It turned out that I was treating the acai extracts as my only source of nourishment and this is what triggered my assumed acai side effects. He explained to me that acai berries are approved as supplements meaning they simply aid the weight loss process and are not the main reason why a person is losing weight. I still had to do exercise and dieting.

Acai Side Effects No More

So now that it was determined that there was nothing wrong with acai berries and the acai berry powder that I was taking, I decided to start over and do it the right way. I followed the diet that my doctor made for me and followed his advice to do some moderate exercises regularly.

Sure enough I did not experience any acai side effects again. The only effects I had since then was the fact that I was able to lose weight and feel more energetic.  I love Acai Berries!
